The saccharide isomerate is an ingredient designed to replicate the carbohydrate fraction of the stratum corneum. Derived from plant-based glucose, it has a structure very similar to the sugars physiologically involved in hydration, giving it an exceptional affinity with the skin. Its unique characteristic is its ability to bind durably to keratin, creating continuous hydration that resists rinsing and accumulates with repeated applications.

Biologically, it stimulates a specific epidermal protein, promoting the formation of natural moisturizing factor (NMF), the natural water reserves of corneocytes. It also strengthens the cohesion of the stratum corneum by supporting key proteins, improving the strength of the skin barrier. Simultaneously, it reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines induced by external aggressors, helping the skin regain comfort and stability.
